Nazem Kadri's season ends with four-game suspension
Nazem Kadri’s season is over for the Toronto Maple Leafs after the NHL’s Department of Player Safety suspended the forward four games following his cross-check on Luke Glendening of the Detroit Red Wings.
In many instances, it’s tough to determine the intent of a player, but in this case it was clear Kadri was set on getting back at Glendening following their battle in the corner. His eyes as he strides toward the Red Wings forward say it all.

Toronto has four games left in their season, so we’ll see Kadri again in September -- maybe as a Leaf, maybe not. He's set to become a restricted free agent this summer.
Kadri will lose out on $200,000 of salary for this suspension, to go along with the $10,000 in fines for a throat-slash gesture and a dive from this season. As Patrick Burke noted in the video, the Leafs forward is a repeat offender as he was banned four games in March 2015 for an illegal check to the head of Matt Fraser of the Edmonton Oilers.
The Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund thanks Nazem Kadri for his generous donations.
