Rangers fan's pun-filled prom proposal is perfect (Photo)
A New York Rangers fan figured out a creative way to mix in his favorite team with asking his girlfriend to Gulford High School’s prom.
Chris Cafiero decided to hang a banner with several names of several Rangers players mixed into a message on the garage door of his girlfriend Isabel Pocock.

The sign read “Prom is gonna be NASHty and I don’t want to STAAL this any MOORE so act FAST and STEPAN down to prom with me. If you think you can YANDLE it."
Said Cafiero to the blog Blueshirts United:
“She was pretty shocked because of how big it was,” Cafiero said, with a laugh. “I went to her house and waited for her to come home. I hid and when she saw it I jumped out.
“She was really happy,” Cafiero said, admitting that she knew the question was coming after dating for three years, but appreciated the effort all the same.
Cafiero said he was inspired by a Chicago Blackhawks prom proposal last year that had a similar look. The Rangers also retweeted Cafiero, which made the proposal that much important to him. As of Wednesday aftrnoon, Cafiero had 367 retweets and 1,080 likes.
“That was amazing,” Cafiero said said. “It was really unexpected. I still can’t believe it when I see my picture and my girlfriend on the Rangers’ account.”
Cafiero, who played high school hockey and is a longtime Rangers fan, also noted Pocock pointed out that the two were famous because of the tweets.
This isn’t the first time the Rangers played a role in helping a young fan get a date to the prom. In late February, forward Mats Zuccarello helped Vinny Mutone of Bohemia, N.Y. get a date to his prom by giving Mutone a stick.
Prom is June 3.
