Jon Jones arrested for probation violation in New Mexico

Jon Jones turned himself in to Albuquerque police on Tuesday morning when an arrest warrant was issued for violating his probation after Jones was recently cited for drag racing and four other violations.

The video is from last Thursday evening and Jones vehemently denied that he was participating in any form of drag racing in an expletive filled tirade that found the 28-year-old calling the officer a “liar” and a “pig.”

Jones was cited for drag racing along with other charges including equipment modifications, issue with a license plate and failure to maintain a traffic lane.

In an interview with “The MMA Hour” on Monday, Jones denied he was drag racing and apologized after his emotions got the better of him.

However, these citations proved to be problematic for the former champion as a judge deemed them to be in direct violation of his probation that stems from a hit-and-run last April when Jones fled from the scene after a car accident involving a pregnant woman.

Jones was preparing for a return to the Octagon after the UFC had suspended Jones indefinitely and stripped him of his light heavyweight title due the incident last year. His next fight is scheduled for April 23 in Las Vegas when he’s set to face fierce rival Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight title he never lost in a fight.

It is not yet known how this will affect his upcoming fight.
