Colorado QB Cade Apsay, S Evan White dismissed

Colorado's spring quarterback competition will go on without Cade Apsay.

Apsay has been dismissed from the team along with safety Evan White. Colorado's spring roster listed both as not returning and, according to the Denver Post, coach Mike MacIntyre said the two had been kicked off the team for rules violations.

Apsay took over as Colorado's starting QB in 2015 after Sefo Liufau was injured. Apsay was 59-92 passing for 582 yards, three touchdowns and five interceptions. He threw for two touchdowns against USC in a 27-24 loss when Liufau was injured. He followed up that perfomance with a 40-attempt game against Washington State. But he threw two interceptions and the Buffaloes lost 27-3 to the Cougars. He split time with Jordan Gehrke against Utah in the final game of the regular season.

Gehrke, who threw 24 passes in 2015, is still on the roster and expected to battle Steven Montez for the starting QB job in 2016. Montez redshirted in 2015.

White appeared in three games and had two tackles in 2015.
