P.K. Subban stretchered off after collision with teammate (Video)
In a scary moment toward the end of Thursday’s Montreal Canadiens vs. Buffalo Sabres game, P.K. Subban was stretchered off the ice after an awkard collision with teammate Alexei Emelin.
As Subban was fighting for the puck in the corner with Marcus Foligno of the Sabres, he fell to his knees and his head collided with Emelin’s backside. Subban immediately fell to the ice, grabbing at his head/neck.
The medical staffs from both teams tended to the Subban for nearly 10 minutes before he was taken off the ice on a stretcher. On his way into the dressing room he gave the Montreal bench a thumbs up as the Bell Centre crowd chanted the Canadiens defenseman's name.
According to the Canadiens, Subban suffered neck injury and was alert and able to move his extremities. He was transported to a local hospital after the game as a precautionary measure and for further evaluation.
