Saurik declares iOS 8 – iOS 8.1 jailbreak is ‘stable enough'; enables the ability to buy tweaks on Cydia
The Pangu jailbreak for iOS 8 – iOS 8.1 may not be ready for prime time when it was released couple of the weeks back, but one must give credit to the Pangu Team and saurik for releasing a series of updates to fix most of the issues.
saurik had disabled the ability to purchase jailbreak apps and tweaks because he believed that iOS 8 – iOS 8.1 jailbreak was not stable enough. However, with the release of Pangu 1.2.1, Pangu Untether 0.4 package, and Cydia 1.1.16 update, he has declared that the jailbreak is “stable enough”.
He has also enabled the ability to buy jailbreak apps and tweaks on Cydia and requested developers to mark their tweaks compatible with iOS 8 – iOS 8.1, so that users with jailbroken iOS 8-iOS 8.1 devices can purchase them from Cydia.
Prior to this users were able to only install tweaks that they had purchased previously in iOS 7-iOS 7.1.x.
With the imminent release of iOS 8.1.1, which kills the Pangu jailbreak, the timing couldn’t have been better. The only thing pending now is, for the Pangu team to release the Mac version of the Pangu jailbreak. They hope to release Pangu jailbreak for Mac in the next couple of days.
As we had mentioned earlier, if you haven’t upgraded to iOS 8.1 yet, then it may be prudent to restore your device to iOS 8.1 if you’re interested in jailbreaking your device in the future.
Have you jailbroken your device on iOS 8 – iOS 8.1? What has been your experience so far.
